I invite you to a sightseeing tour through the town. Let`s start our trip at the Göltzschtal-bridge.
It is the world`s biggest bridge made of millions of bricks and spans the valley of the river Göltzsch
at a length of 575 meters (629 yd). The bridge is 78 m (256 ft.) high. It is the railway track from
Leipzig/Dresden to Nuremberg/Munich that crosses this bridge. You have seen it at our intro. One of Netzschkau's sights is its ancient castle which was built around 1490 in the late gothic style. Not far away from the town there is a hill dominating the countryside. It is 511 m (1.677 ft.) high. People of our region built a look-out on it at the end of the 19th century. Right next to the hill, called the Kuhberg, there is a factory where you can admire the world`s biggest table-cloth made of Plauen lace, a world-famous textile product which is woven here. Netzschkau is the administrative centre of some neighbouring villages. The cultural events taking place here throughout the year are well-known and attract many visitors. The Philharmonic Rock Festival, held in June at the Göltzschtal-bridge, is the most notable of these occasions. Another one held there is an event dedicated to old machinery. You can see a show of veteran cars under the bridge and old steam locomotives crossing it. It is once every year that we have a shooting gallery, a swimming bath competition as well as the Brockau village festival with a wide range of entertainment. Don`t hesitate, come here, the "Nördliches Vogtland" tourist office will help you find a good and competitive accommodation. Netzschkau is so easy to reach on the East/West and North/South motorways A 72, A 9 and A 4, on the federal highway B 173 as well as by train. I hope you will enjoy this internet-trip through Netzschkau. Yours sincerely, Werner Müller Mayor Your opinion on our hompage?
